NLP Hypnotic Language (Milton Model)

Milton Hypnotic language patterns are a fundamental part of NLP and communicating with the unconscious mind.  Did you know you have been in a hypnotic state?  In fact you go in and out of hypnotic states every day.  Ever read a book and had to go back and read the pages again?  Ever driven a car and not remembered the journey?  These are all examples of trance phenomenon.  When you do your NLP Practitioner Training you learn how to use beautiful and elegant language to put people into a trance state and influence them to make unconscious shifts.

What is the Milton model?

The Milton Model is based on the language patterns of Milton Erikson, the grandfather of Hypnosis.  The language patterns within it are designed to bypass the conscious mind and directly communicate with the unconscious, which is where powerful change happens.  This can all be done conversationally to help people shift their state, install internal resources and influence people for good.

Every time we go inside, create images, generate emotional states or make sense of something we go into a
trance like state (called a transderivational search).  We are creating an inner world all of the time and a trance like state is when we get absorbed in our inner workings.

Milton model language sends people into a comfortable state, it is like the water on a water slide, it reduces friction and comes with a sense of ease and fluidity.  Its one of my favourite parts of the NLP Practitioner training, as it helps with every other technique and area of life!

Some of the patterns to get you started

The more the more…..

The more you read about language patterns the more easy you will find them and the more easy you find them the more impact this will have on all areas of your life and the more impact this has the more you can continue to move through life in the best way.

This is a great little pattern and pretty simple to use.  Simply start linking things which are going to be useful for the person you are communicating with as I just did above.  This allows you to be able to continue to cycle round helpful suggestions for the person’s life.  You can swap the content for anything, maybe relaxation, maybe confidence, how would you use it to help someone to shift?

It’s helpful to read about NLP so you can integrate the patterns isn’t it?

You can start to use these patterns in your life more and more can’t you?

It’s good to know that the NLP Practitioner training is going to enhance your life and those around you isn’t it?

When you put a yes response question on the end of a sentence its difficult to not agree isn’t it? 😉

Embedded Commands

Its good to know you can ‘start to relax now’ isn’t it

I don’t when you will ‘start to feel confident in using these patterns’, I’m excited to find out

My mentor once said the best thing to do is ‘just believe in yourself’  and you will be fine

You can embed commands in sentences, quotes, questions or stories.  The trick to embedded commands is to mark out the command (shown in bold and italic) to the unconscious mind.

One way to do this is to leave a slight pause before and after the command, this is obvious enough to communicate to the unconscious mind to take notice, but subtle enough that this goes unnoticed by the conscious mind, cool isn’t it?

Imagine

Just imagine how good it will feel when you have studied NLP and are using it in your life to get the results you want for you and those around you.

Just imagine how pleased you will be when you have put the work into learning these patterns and you are using them with ease in your day to day language.

Just imagine how life will be different when you start using this new sense of confidence and what people around you will notice.

People do not like being told what to do!  If you ask them to simply imagine there is no pressure, no command, you are simply asking them to imagine.

Just imagine how great it will be when you have studied NLP and influential language patterns and what a difference this will make to your day to day communications.

There is so much to the Milton model and during the NLP Practitioner this is spread throughout the course so you can really integrate the learnings, build you skills bit by bit and be confident to use them in your life.

These are just four patterns for you to get started with and if you are curious to learn more about studying NLP them check out the NLP PRACTITIONER TRAINING HERE

NLP is about being more influential and helping yourself and others to achieve your potential.  Congratulations in investing your time in learning more, NLP is the user manual for the brain and I love empowering people to master their mind, manage their emotions and have the results they want in their life.
