NLP and Business - Why?
NLP and business go hand in hand. NLP is used in many fields such as eduction, coaching, therapy and sports to achieve amazing results. It is also a fundamental skill set in business if you want to get the best results possible. When people train as an NLP Practitioner, they gain the skills to have a greater impact, communicate in ways that resonate and builds rapport. It helps improve relationships, bring about organisational change and create powerful states of confidence and the ability to lead with true influence. Here is an intro as to how:
Replication of excellence in any area.
Through NLP we can replicate the same level of excellence being achieved by anyone else, in NLP this is called modelling and it gives methodologies and techniques to recreate any successful behaviour, attitude and strategy. If someone else has done it then we all have the potential to do it too! NLP is an attitude of possibility, flexibility and success, it has been described as ‘the science of excellence’ and it is exactly that. Imagine being able to replicate successes of other organisations and also teach people within your organisation the skill sets that are already working well and the impact this will have on your business.
Language for impact, decoding problems and creating solutions
Language is at the heart of NLP and teaches us to understand, interpret and use the language we and others use day to day. The language we use has a great impact on ourselves through our internal dialogue and the words we use with others. Language can make or break us and relationships, especially in business. Imagine being able to consciously use your language to get to the heart of problems, create specific outcomes, change someones emotional state, create a sense of rapport, and influence them. Whether it is in supervision, public speaking, training, meetings, sales calls or with a client, this is all part of NLP. Becoming an NLP Practitioner affords you all of these skills.
Communication and relationships
The NLP communication model helps people communicate with others more effectively and elegantly. This model teaches us how our thoughts, attitude, focus and behaviours are a result of how we interpret situations and interactions, not as a reaction to those situations. Through NLP we learn to choose how we react to the world which is incredibly empowering.
Our NLP course also teaches you how to build rapport to gain unconscious connection, trust and likability with anyone. You will learn powerful language patterns of influence to really connect with others motivation, drivers and personality types. This is so powerful in business because we all have those people we have to deal with but find difficult to connect with. Also you learn how to develop a sense of empathy and recover communication breakdowns. On the NLP Practitioner course you will learn to understand verbal and non body language and and behaviours so you can interpret what is going on internally for the other person and adapt your behaviour and language in accordance.
Confidence and state management
Ever had a presentation, client or meeting to attend and not felt your best? One of the fundamentals of NLP is being able to access a particular state on demand when you need it, whether it be confidence, calm, strength or any other state you care to think of. You will learn to manage your inner world and state on demand. There is a fundamental tool taught on the NLP Practitioner training called anchoring. This works by eliciting and locking a particular state into your neurology and giving a way to access this instantly, a little like having a short cut on your desktop straight to the good stuff! The more you do it the easier it becomes. Perfect when you need to be at your best.
Organisational change – motivation and morale
For true impactful change to happen within individuals and organisations we need to connect on the level of identity, beliefs and values. Simply changing environment or behaviours does not make for lasting change and things can slip. When you address issues on a higher level, then you pave the way for a better future within teams and organisations.
NLP teaches models for change and how to elicit values from individuals and organisations and this can be used to make sure that there is a match. This is effective at all levels of an organisation, top down and bottom up. I go through this exercise with organisations and it highlights where there is a mismatch in values of employee and organisation, manager and team etc. Organisations are a eco system and need to be working with shared values otherwise the cracks start to show and people feel devalued. I don’t know whether this sounds familiar to you? It is very common when values are not considered, people end up frustrated, stressed, defiant and non resilient.
